Caraway Review: Is the Pretty Ceramic Cookware Built to Last?
Caraway made ceramic nonstick the pan you leave out on the stove. The catalog now covers stainless and enameled cast iron too, and the warranty terms differ sharply depending on which you buy.

Sixty-second verdict
- The ceramic nonstick line carries a one-year limited warranty, while the stainless and enameled cast iron product pages promise a lifetime warranty.
- The flagship ceramic Cookware Set lists at $675 but was marked down by $230 when we checked, and discounts like that seem to be routine.
- Recent one-star reviews keep describing the same thing: ceramic pans that stop releasing food after weeks or months.
- The care rules are strict for nonstick: low to medium heat, no cooking spray, no dishwasher, and wood or silicone utensils only.
- Caraway’s Trustpilot profile is strong and the company answers negative reviews, which is more than most cookware brands bother to do.

What we'd buy

Stainless Steel Fry Pan $135
Five-ply stainless with a lifetime warranty, and none of the coating worries.
The 10.5-inch stainless fry pan is the best thing Caraway sells and the least talked about. The product page describes fully clad five-ply construction with an aluminum core and a ferritic steel base for induction, oven-safe to 550°F and dishwasher-safe. It carries a limited lifetime warranty rather than the one year on ceramic pieces. Stainless asks more of the cook, since food sticks until you learn to preheat and use enough fat, but it will not wear out.
- Best for
- Searing, pan sauces and cooks who want one pan for life
- Weak spot
- Learning curve; eggs stick without enough fat

6.5 qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven $265
A good-looking, lifetime-warranty Dutch oven priced below the French heritage brands.
Caraway’s enameled cast iron arrived late to the range and is a solid alternative to the established European names at a lower price. The 6.5-quart round pot weighs 13.4 pounds, has a three-layer enamel coating, and needs no seasoning. The product page lists a lifetime warranty and all-stovetop compatibility. The care page asks you to keep heat at low to medium after a short preheat and to avoid the dishwasher, and enamel can chip if knocked against hard surfaces.
- Best for
- Bread, braises and big-batch soups
- Weak spot
- Heavy, and enamel chips if knocked

Stainless Steel Cookware Set $805
The full kitchen in five-ply stainless, with the magnetic storage that sells the brand.
If you are buying a set from Caraway, buy this one rather than the ceramic version. It is a twelve-piece set with storage, built from the same five-ply steel as the fry pan, and was marked down substantially when we checked. You still get the pan rack and lid holder that make Caraway sets tidy in a cupboard. The trade-off is weight and the stainless learning curve, and it costs more than the ceramic set at full price.
- Best for
- Setting up a kitchen that will last a decade
- Weak spot
- Pricier than ceramic, and heavier

Cookware Set $675
The ceramic set that made the brand, if you accept the coating will wear.
The ceramic set has a 10.5-inch fry pan, a 3-quart sauce pan, a 4.5-quart sauté pan and a 6.5-quart Dutch oven, plus lids, a pan organizer and a canvas lid holder. It is oven-safe to 550°F, works on induction, and the coating is sold as made without PTFE and PFAS. Owners love the colors and the easy cleanup at first. The recurring complaint is food starting to stick within months, and the coating warranty only lasts a year.
- Best for
- Light cooking and buyers who prize a coordinated look
- Weak spot
- Coating release fades; one-year warranty
What we'd pass on
Mini Fry Pan
The ceramic Mini Fry Pan costs $115, only ten dollars less than the full 10.5-inch pan, for an eight-inch surface that will lose its release just as fast. Small nonstick pans are the most abused in any kitchen, used daily for eggs at high heat. Buy an inexpensive one you can replace without regret, or learn eggs in stainless.
Squareware Set
The Squareware Set takes the same ceramic coating and reshapes it into square pans, listed at $810 before discounts. Square pans fit more food per burner, but you are paying a large premium for a novelty shape whose coating carries the same one-year warranty. We would put that money into the stainless set instead.

Reader questions
How long does Caraway’s ceramic nonstick last?
Caraway does not publish a lifespan, and the warranty on ceramic pieces is one year. Owner reviews range widely: some report pans going strong for years, while a steady stream of one-star reviews describe sticking after a few months. Low heat, a little oil and no cooking spray give it the best chance.
Can Caraway pans go in the dishwasher?
The care guide says not for ceramic nonstick or enameled cast iron, which are hand-wash only. The stainless fry pan’s product page lists it as dishwasher-safe, though the care guide still suggests avoiding the dishwasher to protect longevity.
Does Caraway cookware work on induction?
Yes for the ceramic and stainless lines, according to their product pages. The stainless pans use a ferritic steel base for induction. The enameled cast iron Dutch oven page says only all-stovetop compatible, which in practice includes induction for cast iron.
Where we land
Caraway is better than its reputation as an Instagram cookware brand, and worse than its pricing suggests on the one thing it is famous for. The ceramic pans are pleasant and short-lived. The five-ply stainless and enameled cast iron carry lifetime warranties and are where the value now sits. Wait for one of the frequent set discounts, choose stainless where you can, and treat any ceramic piece as a consumable.
